POWER OPERATED MOBILE ELEVATING WORK PLATFORMS (INSTRUCTORS)

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
Provides experienced Power Operated Mobile Elevating Work Platform (POMEWP) operators with the knowledge and skills required to instruct and then authorise, at unit level, competent operators. Trade Qualification Annotation (TQA) Q-GE-POMEWP will be awarded to those completing this course and is lifed for 2 years after cessation of employment on POMEWP instructional duties.

1 week.
NOMINATION PROCEDURE:
All RAF nominations through PMA 6B(1). Non-RAF personnel through Business Development Officer
ELIGIBILITY
All RAF units entitled to POMEWP under AFDSEC or MT Vehicle Scaling will require unit instructors. SNCOs (and JNCOs nominated by S Eng O) directly involved in instructing POMEWP operators. Selected students must have completed 6 months experience as a qualified operator on any one type of POMEWP. On contracturised units where established posts are manned by civilians there may be a need for them to attend this course.
AIM
To train selected SNCOs (and JNCOs selected by S Eng O) to give instruction and certify as competent trained personnel in the operation of POMEWP.
