ROTARY HYDRAULIC ARRESTING GEAR (RHAG) (ON STATION)

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

This course is designed to be taught locally at user units through on the job training (OJT). Personnel of Trade Group 5 Gen Mech/Tech E and Gen Mech/Tech GSE will be taught operation and maintenance including cable and tape changing. Trade Group 8 Firemen will be taught the same syllabus but excluding maintenance, cable and tape changing.

DURATION:

1 to 2 days.

NOMINATION PROCEDURE:

RAF personnel locally at unit level. Non-RAF personnel through Business Development Officer

 

ELIGIBILITY

a. Initial/Replacement Personnel (TG5). All Gen Mech/Tech GSE and Gen Mech/Tech E who are to be employed on aircraft arrester systems are to undergo structured OJT at their designated unit iaw the Training Syllabus and Instructional Specification.

b. Initial/Replacement Personnel (TG8 Firemen). All firemen who are to be employed on aircraft arrester systems are to undergo structured OJT at their designated unit iaw the Training Syllabus and Instructional Specification.

AIM

To train personnel of Trade Group 5, Gen Mech E, Gen Tech E, Gen Mech GSE and Gen Tech GSE, who are responsible for all servicing on the RHAG to operate and maintain the installation in a competent and safe manner.
