BRIEF DESCRIPTION

Provides training for personnel in the trade of Painter and Finisher concerned with the maintenance and instructional duties on Respiratory Protection Equipment (RPE). This course will enable trained personnel to maintain RPE and relevant documentation, give Continuation Training (CT), On The Job Training (OJT) and Continued Formal Training (CFT) in sizing/wearing and user maintenance to personnel on their units and parent MOD and civilian units. The Trade Qualification Annotation (TQA) Q-GEN-RPE, which has a life of 2 years, will be awarded on successful completion of the course.

All RAF nominations through PMA 6B(1). Non-RAF through Business Development Officer

ELIGIBILITY

Suitable JNCOs or MOD employed civilian equivalents.

AIM

To teach the skills, knowledge and procedures for the care and maintenance of RPE to selected personnel as pre-employment training so that they can maintain RPE and relevant documentation, give CT, OJT and CFT in sizing/wearing and user maintenance to personnel on their units.

  • Health and Safety.
  • Filtration Systems - Replacement and disposal of filters.
  • Storage, wearing and maintenance of RPE including Air Fed protective helmets.
  • Documentation.
  • Need for Refresher/Ongoing training.
