ADVANCED WELDING

Course No 2294

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

Provides airmen in the trade of General Technician Workshops (Gen Tech WS) or civilian equivalents with training in the knowledge, skills, procedures and practices of welding required for employment on advanced welding. Trade Qualification Annotation (TQA) Q-GE-W will be awarded to those successfully completing this course.

DURATION:

8 weeks.

NOMINATION PROCEDURE

All RAF nominations through PMA 6B(1). Non-RAF personnel through Business Development Officer

ELIGIBILITY

Airmen or civilian equivalents selected by PMA prior to employment on advanced welding.

AIM

To train personnel to a standard where they can safely and competently set up, operate and maintain Electric and Argon Arc Welding Plants to perform welding tasks on general and aircraft metals.
