ADVANCED MILLING

Course No 2295

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

Provides airmen in the trade of General Technician Workshops (Gen Tech WS) or civilian equivalents with training in the knowledge, skills, procedures and practices of milling to a standard where they can work competently and safely on vertical, horizontal and universal milling machines. Trade Qualification Annotation (TQA) Q-GE-MA will be awarded to those successfully completing this course.

DURATION:

10 weeks.

NOMINATION PROCEDURE

All RAF nominations through PMA 6B(1). Non-RAF through Business Development Officer

ELIGIBILITY

Gen Tech WS tradesmen or civilian equivalents selected by PMA prior to employment on advanced milling operations but after gaining at least 6 months practical experience of basic milling procedures.

AIM

To train personnel to a standard where they can safely and competently set up and operate vertical, horizontal and universal milling machines to perform machining tasks on general and aircraft components.
