SURFACE AND CYLINDRICAL GRINDING

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

Provides airmen in the trade of General Technician Workshops (Gen Tech WS) or civilian equivalents with the knowledge, skills, procedures and practices of surface and cylindrical grinding to a standard where they can work competently and safely on Surface and Universal Cylindrical Grinding machines. The Trade Qualification Annotation (TQA) Q-GE-GA will be awarded to personnel who successfully complete the course.

DURATION:

6 weeks.

NOMINATION PROCEDURE

All RAF nominations through PMA 6B(1). Non-RAF through Business Development Officer

ELIGIBILITY

Gen Tech WS tradesmen or civilian equivalents selected by PMA prior to employment on surface and universal cylindrical grinding machines. Nominees should have at least 6 months workshop experience.

AIM

To train personnel to competently and safely set up and operate surface and universal cylindrical grinding machines to perform tasks to both general and aircraft engineering standards.
