What do we do ?
We are primarily
responsible for:
- The training of Airframe
and Electrical Aircraft Battle Damage Repair
(ABDR) Assessors as well as ABDR Instructors.
- Liaison visits to RAF
Stations to assess ABDR Instructors and to
deliver
Officer appreciation courses in ABDR.
- Research and Development of
ABDR techniques especially in:
- Carbon Fibre
composite materials
- Fibre Optic repairs
- Alternative
materials and tools
- Assisting aircraft
manufacturers technical publications departments
with the
compilation of ABDR manuals
Our additional responsibilities
include:
- Acting as ABDR evaluators
on operational assessments and evaluations
- Providing representative
battle damaged structures for evaluations
- Training Commonwealth and
other foreign nations in ABDR
Our reputation for first class
training has been enhanced when we delivered a
complete ABDR Instructors course to the Royal Australian
Air Force (RAAF)
in Williamtown Australia and assisted in the formation of
the RAAF ABDR School.
