Royal Air Force


No 4 School of Technical Training was the first unit to take up residence at
RAF St Athan in September 1938. Since then the School has undertaken the
training of Flight Mechanics, Flight Engineers, RAF Administrative and Aircraft
Apprentices, Riggers, Drivers, and a host of engineering and mechanical trades.

The School is proud of its reputation as a quality training organisation, reinforced
by its ISO 9001 accreditation, commitment to the Investors in People Standard
and alignment towards the Business Excellence Model. Moreover, it enjoys an
enviable trainee success rate and is an approved EMTA and City & Guilds Centre
for award of NVQs. In addition, certain courses work towards the BTEC National
Certificate and the Modern Apprenticeship
