CENTRE STAGE
This drama course is aimed at 13 to 16 year old children who are either beginners or have had some previos experience in developing confidence with themselves as performers. Children will learn to:
• express themselves with authority and effect
• speak clearly and strongly
• be confident to question, explain, describe & analyse
• display accurate and effective stage craft
• interact with fellow actors and audiences
• perform complicated sequences of movements
• perform complete dance routines
• sing as part of a chorus or individually
• portray a variety of characters - authentic/comic/tragic/caricatureand develop skills in:
• drama techniques: mime; masks; puppets; staged fighting; slapstick comedy; improvisation (story making); vocal improvisation; scenario building; character analysis
• memorising scripts/songs/patterns of movement
• vocal strength, projection and articulation
• coordination, negotiation and cooperation
• knowing sequences of events and integrating their role
