New Range of High Security Door Handles
We now fit as standard to all our doors the PAS24 security handle from Hoppe.
This handle provides additional security over standard handles and now meets the new updated PAS24 'Resistance To Forced Entry' specification. This specification includes a special cylinder vulnerability test to determine how easily an intruder can gain access to the door cylinder by breaking the door handle.
Most traditional standard handles have a lightweight, hollow backplate, which can be broken off to gain access to the door cylinder. Hoppe's handle has a special cylinder protection feature on the back plate which makes it harder to break and remove, thereby giving extra protection to the door cylinder.
Hoppe's security handle is also approved by the Police-backed Secured By Design (SBD) Initiative, details of which can be found here
Self-Cleaning Glass Has Arrived
Tired of cleaning your windows? Struggling to find a Window Cleaner?
Aire Valley Glass have the solution for you!

We are authorised stockists of Pilkington Activ™ self-cleaning glass, the brand new product from Pilkington that takes the hassle out of cleaning your windows.
Each pane has a unique coating which, when activated by daylight, breaks down organic sustances, which are then washed away by the rain to leave a streak-free finish. It is very easy to maintain, environmentally friendly and is recommended for hard-to-reach places such as upstairs rooms or conservatories.
It can also be combined with other specialty glass to provide additional benefits such as solar control and insulation against noise and heat.
For more information Pilkington have a dedicated Activ™ glass website, which can be found here

Latest Door Locking Mechanisms
We get a lot of questions regarding the locking mechanisms used on our doors, so here is some useful information about our multi-point locking systems.
Aire Valley Glass uses the Winkhaus Scorpion Multi-Point Locking Systems on our PVCu doors, which incorporates advanced technical and security features, as well as a low operating force to ensure smooth, easy usage.

The Scorpion XL3 3-hook system is fitted as standard to our PVCu doors, with the option of an XL5 5-hook mechanism available.
The Winkhaus range of lock and cylinders has been awarded accreditation and approval as a Police Prefered Product by Secured by Design, details of which can be found here (the lock description is 'Scorpion XL3/XL5 Multi-Point Lock for PVCu doors.' )
We also offer the option of an Entry Guard locking system, which is a purpose-designed locking system with integral guard bar for additional security. This is much stronger than traditional door chains and, as it is integrated into the door mechanism, provides a much more aesthetically pleasing finish.
The entry guard can also be deactivated from outside the door by a keyholder, simply by turning the key an extra 45 degrees when unlocking. This allows it to be engaged all of the time for extra security.
Both the XL3/XL5 and entry guard systems are on display in our showrooms, should you require any further information/visualisation.
Aire Valley Glass is collecting stamps to help support the Save The Albatross appeal, which is being run in conjunction with the RSPB.
100,000 albatrosses are killed every year on fishing hooks. They are being killed in such vast numbers that they can't breed fast enough to keep up. This is putting them in real danger of extinction.
Please visit http://www.savethealbatross.net for more details, and for information on how you can help this worthy cause.
Remember that you can help us by bringing in any stamps you may have saved from old letters, just cut off the stamp and bring it into our showroom.
