The National Recycling Awards judges said Akristos' work stood out 'head and shoulders above the rest' and awarded it the prize for Best Industry Recycling Initiative in 2002.

Akristos were also a finalist for the same award in 2003.

  

Akristos have won a number of Green Apple Environment Awards including British Green Champion 2003. These awards are organised by The Green Organisation, an independent environment group dedicated to promoting the positive side of environmental endeavour.
