Continuing with charcoal, the students will learn about balance, weight and form. This will include a brief introduction to anatomy in the context of life drawing.
28th October
Working with charcoal, chalk and a putty rubber, students will develop skills in light, contrast and tonal value using chiaroscuro.
4th November
Students will focus on composition and their interpretation of the human form in its surrounding environment.
11th November
Using pencil, the students will explore their means of expression by experimenting with texture and mark making.
18th November
Students will create drawings that identify harmony and variety in the model by focusing on movement and rhythm.
25th November
Students will produce drawings of the model that demonstrate perspective and foreshortening.
2nd December
Using charcoal, chalk or pencil, students will do a variety of head studies.
9th December
Students will be introduced to life drawing with colour. This will allow a new perspective whist consolidation their skills.
16th December
The final week is for students to have the freedom to create unguided drawings for a final critique that will be attended by both tutors.
