Length of Course:
5801 yards Founded in 1905, the original concept of Banchory Golf Club was to provide the villagers of Banchory with a place to play golf. As Banchory has grown so has its golf course, which has recently been extensively remodelled by the renowned Scottish golf course architect John Souter. The 1999 British Open Champion Paul Lawrie was an assistant here and is a native of this area. Strategically placed bunkers, mature native trees and the 'magnetic' River Dee provide obstacles that can test even the most accomplished player, on what is a truly delightful eighteen. The signature hole is the 88-yard long par three 16th known as the 'Doo'cot', which requires pinpoint accuracy to find a green set above the ancient riverbank. Moreover, a plethora of testing long holes, most notably the 420 yard 13th, ensure that the par of 69 is vigorously defended. Accommodation Aiket Cottage: Tel/Fax - 01330-824399. Email. Web.
