Tsunami Disaster

On hearing of the disaster the club swung into action with street collections out-side Somerfields Supermarket, to date the people of Dawlish have contributed to the purchase of 14 Shelterboxes. A further £1435.00 has been sent to Shelterbox for either tents ro water purification equipment. Thank You.

National Conference Manchester

Date 15 - 17 April 2005. The club hope to return in force to this years conference in an attempt to retain the Cule Lewis Trophy won in 2004. The award is for the greatest percentage of the club members travelling the greatest distance to attend conference.

Walk for Life

Sunday 15 May 2005
The Club hope to build on the success of last years walk which will again start from the bandstand on the Lawn in Dawlish, then along the sea wall to Dawlish Warren. Fancy dress is optional with the theme being "Casualty". There will be music, a majorette competition, side shows and at the end of the day the Shaldon Singers will stage Songs of Praise. Radio Gemini have agreed to help and funds raised
will go to the Devon Air Ambulance who, commitments permitting, have agreed to fly in to Dawlish Warren. Further details contact Tony Goffey on 01626 867547

Centenary Ball

On Friday 18th February 2005 The Rotary Clubs of Dawlish, Teignmouth and Dawlish Water celebrated the Rotary Centenary at the Langstone Cliff Hotel Dawlish Warren. Good food and fellowship was enjoyed by all, the District Governor presented an award to Colin Hunt for his outstanding charity fund-raising.

Mock Interviews

At Langstone Cliff Hotel on 26 & 27 January 2005
The final year students of Dawlish Community College submitted themselves to a mock interview based on a CV submitted to the panel of interviewers. The interviewers were drawn from local Rotary Clubs, businesses and professions in the area. The main purpose was to give the students an idea on how to conduct themselves at an interview and to gain information on interview techniques from the interviewers.

Post Christmas Senior Citizens Party

At St Mary's Hall Dawlish Warren in January 2005 the Club provided a tea and entertainment for some 75 Senior Citizens from the Dawlish area.

Honeymooner's Weekend

A number of the club members and their wives returned to Bournemouth in late January 2005. They had a lovely weekend, for obvious reasons details will only be circulated within the club.

Annual Christmas Street Collection

Between 18 - 24 December 2004 members and wives with Father Christmas collected money for our charity fund a total of £1200 was raised a big thanks to the people of Dawlish.
