We have established our main Computer Generated Graphics system based on AutoCAD 2000 Architectural Desktop and Form-Z modelling software.
AutoCAD is used to provide the 'wire-frame' model, produced in a similar way to a standard 2D drawing, which is then imported into Form-Z where individual images and video walk-through presentations can be produced and rendered.

Alex Carnegie and Andy Flinn have trained in 3D modelling and Form-Z rendering, and Andy has recently attended a further training course on AutoCAD 2000 Architectural Desktop. The examples shown illustrate some of the possibilities of this new facility, including 'grey-scale' images, and 3D full-colour renderings.
In addition to this 'mainstream' 3D provision we have also invested in CAD Logic LT Architect software for all of our workstations.
This software works with AutoCAD to produce a 3D model 'in the background' as standard 2D drawings are prepared. This model can then provide a rendered walkthrough as well as simpler 3D views.
The LT Architect model can also be imported into Form-Z for more detailed rendering.
