THE EXMOUTH AREA
Exmouth is the ideal base for a varied and relaxing break. Just 8 miles from the M5 motorway and Exeter International Airport, and 10 miles from Exeter St. David's mainline Railway link, there's no better placed coastal town in which to stay to visit the many fine amenities in East Devon.
Exmouth has a unique, unspoilt seafront, extending from the peaceful Exe Estuary along the two mile sandy beach, capped by the ornate golden cliffs marking the beginning of the Jurassic Coast. Throughout the year the river and coastline provide habitat for a wide range of rare wildfowl, wading birds and other uncommon wildlife.
Visit the many National Trust properties - A La Ronde in Exmouth, the Norman Lockyer Observatory at Sidmouth, the many charming coastal villages of Topsham, Lympstone, Branscombe and Beer. Even the Tors of Dartmoor are within easy reach.
