Craignish Boat Club Spring (well almost....) Newsletter 10/03/2006 This is the opening salvo in what we hope will be a very active year for the Craignish Boat Club. Lots of events, busy race calendar, keelboat musters - what more could you want? (polite replies only by email please...) First of all - if anyone has forgotten to send in their membership renewal form then please, please let us have it as soon as possible - this is particularly important for the cadet members as we can only plan our teaching programme on the basis of current members. In case you have mislaid the form, just let me know and another one will wing its way to you. Saturday 2nd April 10:30am-3pm. Craignish Boat Jumble and Car Boot Sale - in Kilmelford Village Hall & Car Park.
The event this year promises to be even bigger than last time - Boat bits, chandlery bits & non boat bits, refreshments & raffle. Do come along & may the Gods be kinder to us with the weather this year! Sat 30th April - Tayvallich Boat Club 'Open Day' Boat Show & Jumble - we have heard that this will be a big event & well worth going to. Mon 2nd May - beginning of Cadet Training. A note to all those Flying Fifteens currently parked at the Boat Club site - they must be moved (into the water or elsewhere) by latest the end of April - we need the parking spaces for this season. Adult Racing from the end of April (provisional). This has yet to be finalised but we intend to start adult racing as soon as you can all be persuaded to put your boats in the water! This year there will be weekly racing on Thursday nights from 7pm (4-5 short ten minute races each night - white sails only) and we also hope to hold more Sunday afternoon racing when the races will be a little longer and include spinnakers for the Fifteens. As some of you may be aware, we also have a growing fleet on Lasers and firmly intend to have these racing as well. Keelboats. Regards, |
