Wednesday Night Laser Series 24/07/2006

Despite the fantastic weather last week there was a relatively light turnout on Wednesday.

A gentle Easterly wind meant that it was possible to set a decent sized course in the lagoon.  We had four races on a mixture of triangle and sausage courses, and there was some close racing between Andy and Alex (before handicap at least) and George and Sam in the Picos.  The main race saw Alex just beaten over the line by Andy and George finally complete his first official race.  However once handicaps were applied things looked slightly different - with Alex taking his first win of the year.  Sam also managed to sneak a second place in the Pico..

Starting seems to be a bit of a problem at the moment, with boats crossing the line on average of 20 seconds after the start, and one competitor in a Dart who will remain nameless, taking nearly 2 minutes on one occasion .  Maybe something to work on next week..

Isla is restored to series leader despite still being away on holiday, Alex moves up to second place.
