Race report - Thursday 31 May 2007

Last week's Wednesday night sailing was on Thursday for one week only.  Winds were pretty light but we had time for the usual 3 races. With 3 Lasers, 2 Radials and 2 fifteens on the water, racing was pretty close in the first two races, and Ali managed to shout his way to victory in both.

In the third race, which is traditionally the one that counts towards the series, things looked to be following a similar pattern until the last lap. Ali thinking he had finished, but had been rightly disqualified for some of his aggressive tactics and unilateral application of the rules sailed past the windward mark.  By the time he realised his error, David Graham was pretty much out of sight...  David now leads the series, but there are plenty of races to go...

This Sunday we have some match racing planned vs. Tayvallich.  We will wait and see what the conditions are likely to be, but the plan is to run a series of match races using two similar F15s.   I am expecting around 3 crews from Tayvallich, so it would be good if we could get a similar amount (or more) from Craignish.  Please let me know if you are able to make it...

Thanks, Nick
