Wednesday Night Series (04/06/08)

The first night of the June Series got off to a good start with fairly healthy breeze.  Unfortunately it was from the south so we had to content with pretty gusty conditions and the odd 60 degree windshift.

We had 2 races the first short one went well apart from some misinformation as to where we were supposed to be finishing robbed me of a certain and crushing victory, but never mind its the taking part that counts.  The second race was a longer and more scrappy affair, but as usual Guy (and Leon) showed his class by being first over the line in the Wayfarer, the rest of us should be ashamed of ourselves..

A mention in dispatches should also go to Tom Fisher who managed to work out how to sail a Pico in a gale - twelve capsizes, but 14 successful tacks represents a major achievement.  Welcome to the Nick Purdy school of sailing...
