Wednesday Night July Series (02/07/08)

There were 7 of us spread between 4 boats, Fiona Morrison turned up which meant it had to be windy. Not only that, but the wind was from the south so it was extremely turbulent.

Anyway racing was pretty eventful to say the least, and a succession of capsizes, penalties and outrageous wind-shifts meant that the lead changed frequently and pretty much any of us could have won at some stage.  The end of the race just happened to coincide with me being in front for a change....

The Crinan Classic Boat Festival is on again this weekend, and there will be a small Craignish contingent taking part this year, with myself, Ali and Ranny making up the Flying 15 class.

Racing starts tomorrow, and I will let you know how we get on next week. But if you get a chance to come down it will certainly be worth a look.  I am also looking for a helm for the ladies race on Sunday.  So if you can helm a flying 15 and happen to be a woman, or at least could pass yourself off convincingly as a woman, please let me know.
