When you register as an NHS patient we enter into a contract with the local health authority to provide such treatment as is necessary to secure and maintain your dental health.

You will be eligible to pay for the treatment provided - unless you are in an exempt group. The charges are set by the Department of Health and overseen by the Dental Practice Board.

You may be exempt if:-

• Under 18.
• Under 19 in full-time education.
• Pregnant.
• A mother with a child under one-year.

Or receiving:-

• Income support.
• Family Tax credit.
• On a low income.

Or if in doubt ask at the reception.

As we pride ourselves in being, perhaps, the foremost practice in the area, we can offer practitioners who have additional skills and abilities eg. crown and bridge work. Oral surgery, ie. extractions, etc., orthodontics, denture work, treating nervous patients - hypnosis, IV Sedation. Cosmetic collagen replacement. Further, we have a comprehensive referral network through the major health schemes, which is supported by visiting specialists to the practice.

We have a fully trained hygienist who works with the dental surgeons treating gums and supporting tissues in the practice of preventive dentistry. She is well versed in all aspects of home care and will advise individually on what is the best treatment for you.

The Practice Manager has additional qualifications in First Aid and has the National Qualification which allows her to take dental x-rays.

Our dental nurses are available for help. Some have done extra training and have the National Board Qualifications. They might know more than the dentist!

The reception staff are there to help all the time and are most capable. Diane, the practice manager, is always in the background - nothing passes her - and there is nothing she cannot sort out.
