The role of the Project Manager
The role of the Project Manager is to co-ordinate all the functions of the development and to see that the objectives of the project are clearly defined and achieved and report these to the Client.
The Project Manager becomes the single point of reference for the Client, therefore reducing the time required in holding numerous design meetings and receiving a clear and concise overview of the project. To achieve this single point of reference it is essential that the overall responsibility be vested in one person, with support in depth as required from other professional consultants, and because of the involvement with other building professionals the Quantity Surveyor makes an ideal Project Manager.
