Educare
Small School is in Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey. It was set up in 1997 by Elizabeth Steinthal, a teacher and
former deputy head with 30 years experience, alongside Sue
Merry, a teacher of the Alexander Technique and pioneer in early
years development. It grew out of the
following belief: |
Children who are able to deal confidently and skillfully with each new
step in their lives are children who grow
into happy,
independent,
fulfilled adults, able to take an active part in the
society of the future. |
Educare Small School Provides an environment where this belief can
become a reality.

Come and meet us at Ham Fair this Saturday 14th June from 11.00am to 4.00pm.

Safe - because the environment and teaching methods are stress and fear-free. Balanced - because we recognise that all areas of a child's development, whole brain and whole body, need to be developed to achieve healthy functioning. Nurturing - because a child needs the right conditions in which to grow to be happy and confident. The Educare curriculum has been developed to provide a true balance of intellectual, physical, emotional and spiritual activities. These activities are also enjoyable, fun, exciting, inspiring, motivating and challenging. The National Curriculum is taught in a flexible way so we can address the individual needs of each child. We weave innovative teaching methods into the structure of the school day to enhance the welfare and development or our children and we are the first school to incorporate the Alexander Technique into everyday teaching |
