ChannelMag "pulsed AC" magnetic flowmeter from Arkon Flow Systems Ltd. is measuring raw sewerage for Yorkshire Water in a channel at Esholt STW .The meter never needs cleaning irrespective of grease, algae or build up. The magnetic field reaches all flowing media in the cross section of the channel - turning the channel into a full bore meter accurate to 2% of reading at site conditions, providing installation requirements are met. Calibrated in a tow tank traceable to national standards, ChannelMag carries a 5 year warranty.

This flowmeter is installed at a MOD site to measure the flow of final effluent into lagoons.

It is a requirement of the EA that the daily volumes of final effluent are logged and reported.

The MOD site had no facility for this. The solution was to install a 4” electromagnetic meter “Checkmag” on an upward incline in a new chamber next to the drain. This ensured that the meter always remained full. After the meter - the effluent spilled over into the original drain and on into the lagoon.

An integral part of the “Checkmag” flow converter is the data logger, which will log the daily flow of final effluent over a four month period.
