Fields of Little America by Martin W. Bowman GMS Enterprises are proud to announce the release of a totally revised and greatly enhanced version of this classic title on the United States 8th Air Force's Second Air Division As usual, we believe in letting the author tell the story: 'Back in 1977 when Fields of Little America first appeared in print it was incredibly well received...' says author Martin Bowman. '...the cuttings file soon bulged with highly complimentary reviews. The original book had eleven chapters on 118 pages, containing around 170 pictures. At the time it was all new, all fresh. Nevertheless, that was nearly 30 years ago now, and much more information and many more photographs and accounts have came to light in the intervening years, so when Graham Simons of GMS Enterprises and I started discussing a reprint, it became obvious that what we really had to do was to jack up the title and slide a totally newbook underneath it! |

We feel that this new edition of 'Fields of Little America' is both timely and a fitting tribute to all those that served with the Second Air Division during those dark days of World War Two. This book should provide a valuable reference source to both military and social historians and a wonderful aide memoire for those that remember the times when the Yanks were 'over here'! |
