Herbert Vom Matthiasberg arrived in the UK from Hungary a few years ago. He is from the vom Matthiasberg kennel in Hungary and this mating is the first with a dog from this renowned Hungarian kennel in the UK.

I first met Herbie at the LCGB Championship show in 2003 while he was waiting to be judged by Terry Thorn. He won the novice class and Terry Thorn commented "He was too good for this class". He went on to take second in graduate. I was impressed with his lovely confident manner and good size. He is simply a lovely, laid-back hulking Leo from a top European Kennel.

The vom Matthiasberg kennel is far better known in Europe and the US, than in the UK. Andrea Rohrbacher owns Mador (HJCH Marzipan Vom Matthiasberg) and her site has great coverage of all the vom Matthiasberg dogs.

Herbert's mum is still going strong in the show ring having recently moved up to veteren class on turning 7. She was Veteran European Winner 2005 (Tulln), less than 12 months after a litter of pups!

Herbert has been shown lightly in the UK and Europe.

The sire and dam meet the LCGB Code of Conduct for breeding. Brindy has been "heart-tested" (January 2005).The puppies were character assessed at 7 weeks as part of placing them in the most appropriate homes. The puppies were raised on a Raw diet and character assessed at seven weeks.
