Glyn Y Mul Farm
The ‘Lone Wolf’ Campsite
The ‘Lone Wolf’ campsite is a privately owned niche woodland
site located just outside Aberdulais in
The emphasis here is on peace and quiet, back to basics. There’s nothing fancy here. People have been coming since 1999 because it’s unusual, different, eccentric perhaps and informal.
If you want a camp site where you can play stereo’s, find a clubhouse, have shops on site etc then you are most definitely in the wrong place! There’s plenty to choose from, but this place is not the right one for you.
The site has been featured in several books and numerous press articles over the years. They were all very complimentary but did result in rather more customers, attention and resource demands than we wanted.
We had a short closure in 2012 but are now accepting campers again on a slightly smaller scale and with a little less in the way of facilities.
Please be aware that the site is strictly advanced bookings only, don’t just turn up. We only take limited numbers here.
What’s on site?
20 acres of woodland. The river Dulais borders the west side of the woods and part of the old single track Neath & Brecon railway borders the east. You cannot take vehicles into the woodland. You can park near the gate and you walk in from there. You probably wouldn’t need to walk more than 100-200 metres to find suitable camping spots but it’s worth thinking seriously about what you really need to have with you. Small camp fires are fine*, but strictly no air weapons, bows or trapping. Any kind of tents are welcome together with hammocks, tarps. We ask people to leave the place clean and tidy.
Facilities – We have male and female toilets (portaloo type), free hot shower, kitchen and wash room. You will be a 3 to 4 minute walk from the woodland to the facilities dependant on precisely where you choose to set up camp.

We are isolated but not remote, which is an ideal compromise. 5 miles from Neath which has all the facilities you may need. 5 miles from junction 43 of the M4, 1 mile from the A465 ‘Heads of the Valleys’ Road. The farm has its own dedicated post code – SA10 8HF. Take a look on Google Maps or Google Earth.
We prefer bookings via e-mail. E-mails can be checked and responded to at a convenient time and there is then a record of everything agreed. Also e-mail if you would like to make general enquires. We normally ask for a 50% deposit up front to take bookings. Payments have to be Internet Banking Transfer or Cheque for advanced deposits, cash for balances on arrival. Unless agreed in advance campers need to be able to arrive on site before 7pm or dusk, whichever is earlier.
£5 per night per adult (16 and over)
£2.50 per night for a child (3 to 15)
Dogs Free but must be kept on leads
Cars, parking, gazebos, pup tents etc all free. No pitch fees.
We have grass areas available for motor homes and caravans but they cannot go into the woodland.
