Pictures of the farm

Our camping field seen here in spring. The ground is just about flat to gently sloping and the small campers ‘block’ is on the right. The field is about half an acre although if people want to camp in the wilds of our woodland they are welcome to. More facilities have been added since this picture was taken.

The camping field here is seen looking down from our ‘tump’. It’s just above centre in the picture, which is taken looking towards the South-east.

Another view from the ‘tump’ looking South-west. On the very horizon you can see the sea with the naked eye. If the picture were more clear, you are looking directly out across Swansea bay and at night you can just see Mumbles lighthouse in the distance.

A view looking north along the Dulais River. About half a mile of the Dulais River runs though the farm, together with about 20 acres of broadleaf woodland.

Above, 2 pictures sent to me by Steve Aston & Jacky Falt who camped in our woodland during Easter 2010. They camped on quite a high part of the woodland because we had endured 2 weeks of solid rain prior to their arrival. It’s nice to see an occasional out of season picture like this because there is a tendency for all photographs to be taken in bright sunny dry conditions and that is not a fair representation of what the weather in South Wales is frequently like.

Two more out of season woodland pictures this time courtesy of Philip Smith. The location of these tents will be unrecognisable from these pictures in summer.

There’s a much larger collection of pictures on our Facebook page here:-

If the link won’t work then a Facebook search on ‘Friends of the Lone Wolf Campsite’ should find it.
