"Scottish Love in Action", Tuni, India

"Scottish Love in Action", Tuni, India was founded in the summer of 1999 when Brian Barron and Gillie Davidson took twenty-three members of the Greenbank youth group Q II on an expedition to Tuni, in the State of Andra Pradesh, south-east India to help build a Home-cum-school for 150 "Untouchable", destitute children. There are now more than 350 children there and the original building is now part of a much larger complex..

On their return, after an extraordinary experience, it was realised that they were now committed to supporting the children by continuing to raise money to maintain their feeding, clothing and education. SLA is now a registered Scottish Company with Tom Fleming, the renowned actor and broadcaster, as its patron. As this is an ongoing responsibility the nine Directors of SLA, who include seven of the original group who worked on the project in Tuni, welcome your concern, interest and practical support. Much has been achieved since SLA came into existence, both in fundraising and in awareness raising.
