Elm Farm - Visits  
Elm Farm is a working farm, some of which has been specifically designed to provide a safe and clean place for groups to visit. The location of the farm and its layout means that there is easy access and parking.

We welcome groups up to 30 people of all ages, including schools.

Elm Farm is only open for pre-booked group visits only. Group organisers are welcome to visit in advance to plan their trip. Please either use the information below or telephone us for more information.

Facilities

  • There is a large clean barn with tables and benches, and additional seating for up to 80 persons.
  • Video projection (including audio)
  • Specialist speakers can be booked. e.g. Bees, Owls
  • Refreshments
  • Toilets
  • Hand washing
  • Car parking for upto 50 cars and room for large coaches

   

The farm has been visited by the Health and Safety Executive for the necessary safety checks and risk assessments. Public liability insurance covers £10 million.

Guided Farm Walks

These can be a general walk on the farm or they can be specialised in a variety of areas:

  • Farming and Conservation
  • Land Use
  • Wildlife and Habitat
  • Wildlife of Hedgerows and Ponds
  • Pond life and other mini beasts
  • Birds
  • Owls
  • Bees
  • Landscape and History
  • or suggest a relevant subject and we’ll see if we can cover it.

The guided walks are normally free, but a charge would be made for refreshments provided.

Farming or Conservation Seminars

We can also host seminars on agriculture and conservation related subjects, for example: timber management, hedge restoration and wildlife crops.

On weekdays we can normally arrange buffet lunches through outside caterers by prior arrangement.  At most other times we can provide coffee and light refreshments.  See the Booking Form for more details.
