The Bread Basket Owned by the Maisey Family, which has been a well known name in the bakery trade for many years. The business was formed by the present owner's great grandfather in Bristol, where he used to drive his horse and cart around the streets of Bristol selling his bakery products door to door. The business and the family then moved to Farmborough near Bath, where it still thrives to this day. We bake traditional bread using untreated flour, which is baked on the premises in our steam tube oven. This unique oven, (one of the finest in the country), can bake 200 loaves at a time and gives the bread its crusty and traditional flavour. We sell a wide range of freshly baked breads, rolls and sticks, these come in all shapes and varieties to choose from. You can have Split Tin, Bloomer, Farmhouse, Cottage, Round or Portland Loaf. All of these are baked in White, Wholemeal and Granary. If the bread you require is not on our shelves, please speak to the sales staff who will be more than happy to assist you Our sandwiches and filled rolls can be made to order. Hot or cold snacks and meals are baked daily and can be consumed in Courts Coffee Shop or our refurbished outdoor dining area, located in the adjacent Courtyard. Our fresh cakes and sweet pies are filled with the most delicious ingredients that will tickle the most discerning taste buds - so that choosing which one to have is the only difficulty. We also provide a celebration cake service, where we can make your special cake to your own requirements.
