hydroplan PROJECTS
Project: Conaglen House |
|
| The Conaglen House hydro scheme is to the west of Loch Linnhe, approximately 20km to the south-west of Fort William via Corran. | |

The scheme consists of a small intake weir built across the Allt an lnbhire with a pipeline from the intake weir to the powerhouse. |

Construction of this 250kW run-of-river scheme began in 2008 and was commissioned in January 2009. The electricity generated is exported to a nearby 11kV grid. |

The powerhouse was designed to accommodate one turbine and associated generation and control equipment, in addition to welfare facilities for maintenance staff. Other aspects were taken into account, such as cultural heritage features and nature conservation interests. Indeed, this powerhouse was designed to look like an adjacent deer larder to ensure the impact of the building was kept to a minimum. |
