FCN - The Falconian Empire.
The Falconian Empire, an alien affiliation in KJC's wonderful Phoenix-Beyond the Stellar Empire. They are a race of space faring avians who flock around the peripheries trading and exploring :)

Greetings,
I am Administrator Xen, representative of the Falconian Empire.
We are the Falconian Empire, a colonial empire based in the Acropolis system. I'm sure you've seen some of our trade fleet or even traded with one of our trade colonies, such as the famous FCN Falencia which is one of the greatest trading colonies around! Generally we are a peaceful people who wish only to explore the peripheries and trade with those we find.
Of course a tense cease fire currently resides between the Falconian Empire and the Stellar Empire (IMP, FET and GTT), though lately it has not flared into violence which is a glorious thing indeed. Peace is more profitable than war!
The Falconian people generally take to the stars with dreams of trade and exploration, new skies to fly in and new people to meet. There really is quite nothing to a Falconian like hunting through the trade markets of the periphies and making a killing in profit. An odd species if I may be honest, myself being a Human but most enjoyable company when you get used to them. They throw themselves into trading with such vigor because, in my modest opinion, it suits their Hunter/Gatherer roots. The relationship between exploring, gaining items, trading and getting stellars, seems to resemble their innate drive towards Predator and Prey relationships. Perhaps on some deeper psychological level they associate exploration with seeking prey, gaining items with the kill itself and the acquisition of wealth with sustenance. It all seems about survival to me but perhaps they just like meeting people....
To codify an entire race in a paragraph would be impossible but I shall attempt to give you my humble opinion on this race. All space faring Falconians seem to be either Traders or Explorers, almost to a majority. This could stem from the fact that the more Hunt obsessed members of the species seem to have an innate aversion to new technology and prefer more traditional lifestyles. Recently I have noticed an increase in the number of technologically based Hunters appearing, hopefully this will not change the direction of the Empire from its currently benign course.....
I'm sure you would have heard something of the FCN's history from someone. As with all histories some people have different views than others, for example the First Emperors version is a little different. Its not my place to say which one carries the more validity.
