JDA Safety provides a wide range of health and safety consultancy services. Examples of our most commonly used services are detailed:

Risk Assessments

Risk assessment is the corner stone of health and safety legislation and forms an essential part to the management and control of workplace hazards and risks.

JDA Safety are qualified and competent to carry out risk assessments as required by the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations and have experience of working with Clients to develop and introduce risk assessments appropriate to range of activities carried out.

JDA Safety are also experienced in developing risk assessments for the majority of supporting legislation including manual handling, personal protective equipment, display screen equipment, noise and work equipment.

Safe Systems of Work/Method Statements

The findings from risk assessment need to be translated into effective safe systems of work if work activities are to be suitably controlled.  Safe systems of work used in the construction industry are often called method statements.

The content of a safe system of work should take into account specific requirements to ensure that all aspects of the activity are adequately dealt with and that the hazards and risks are adequately controlled.

JDA Safety has experience in working with Clients to ensure that suitable safe systems of work/method statements are developed for their work activities.

JDA Safety also provides Clients with training on how to write and assess method statements to ensure they know what to look for and to judge whether or not works are to be carried out safely.

Health and Safety Policy and Procedures

Organisations with five or more employers are required to document their company health and safety policy and procedures. JDA Safety has significant experience in assisting Clients in the review and development of their health and safety documentation to enable them to demonstrate effective management of health and safety.

All policies and procedures are specifically designed to allow our Clients to demonstrate a best practice approach towards health and safety. Any documentation developed is in accordance with the Clients business activities and operating needs, this allows practical implementation by those who need to follow them whilst maintaining legal compliance.

CDM

The Construction, Design and Management Regulations (CDM) Regulations came into effect in April 1995. They introduced for the first time specific responsibilities for the design and management of the construction process

The regulations require that the hazards and risks arising from design are eliminated or controlled and that information is provided to support safe construction and ongoing maintenance of a structure.

JDA Safety support many organisations and duty holders (Client, Designers, Planning Supervisor, Principal Contractor, Contractors) in fulfilling their CDM responsibilities as well as providing Planning Supervisor services and CDM training.

Health & Safety Inspections

JDA Safety provides a workplace inspection service which assists Clients in demonstrating their arrangements for ongoing monitoring of work activities and is an effective means of ensuring implementation of health and safety policies and procedures.

JDA safety has experience of carrying out workplace inspections at a variety of locations, examples of which include construction sites, workshops/factories and offices. Where Clients request regular workplace inspections to be carried out, health and safety standards and safe working practices are seen to improve and therefore safeguard the business.
