The
gallery is deceptively large with about 250 framed paintings and engravings
on display at any time. There are also a large number of framed and
unframed paintings stacked around the gallery, plus 3 browsers
full of mounted stock. With large stocks of paintings not on display,
we are always pleased to show anything that could meet your requirements.
Our
buying policy means we can offer a wide range of stock at very
competitive prices. Framed watercolours for example start from as
little as £60. There is substantial choice under £500, plus investment
paintings in four figures.
During the year a number of themed
exhibitions or displays are organised. These range from major exhibitions
of watercolours and antique local engravings through to displays
like animal or marine subjects including large displays
of some of our stock by one or more of our artists.
Many of
our latest acquisitions are shown in the display windows, which are illuminated
until about 11pm.
