The subjects in watercolour can be very
varied but landscapes and flowers are the most popular.
Local
views in landscape are very popular (see next page), but many other
general views of the British Isles are also stocked by artists
from all over the country.
The modern landscapes by William
Neal in stunning colours look apparently simple scenes but are
detailed and warrant very close examination.
The traditional landscape
views include scenes of England, Wales and Scotland are mainly by
artists from those regions.
Other subjects that are ever popular
are bustling marine scenes with old sailing or steam ships, beach
scenes, figures including nudes, transport vehicles (cars, lorries
traction engines, trains, etc.), animals (cats, dogs, farm animals) and
garden scenes.
