Chairman of East Malling and Larkfield Parish Council David Thornewell welcomed the Mayor of Tonbridge and Malling Cllr. Derek Still plus members of Snodland Town Council and East Malling & Larkfield Parish Council to a small ceremony to mark the siting of the new boundary stone between Larkfield and Snodland at Leybourne Country Park on 15th April 2006.

The stone stands on the ancient path linking New Hythe Lane across the marshes to what was Birling Common and Brook Lane. The marshes are now the country park and the common is the treatment works & open space at the end of Brook Lane, now become Snodland.
