Spanish Tapas Bar and Cafe
23 Wood Street, Old Town, Swindon, SN1 4AN. 01793 488450

Winter's almost here again and we've made some seasonal changes to our menu. New regular items on the menu include a couple of tapas featuring bacalao (salt cod) from Spain, a saffron rice dish and an interesting seasonal modern tapa with beetroot and pistachios. There's also a comeback for Pollo PX (free range chicken with Pedro Ximinez sherry, pine nuts and raisins) and Garbanzos con Espinacas (creamy chick peas with fresh spinach and moorish spices.) All very moreish too! The shellfish, Oysters, Mussels and Clams are back every weekend from Friday lunchtime (deliveries permitting).

There has been a lot of local press coverage lately about the Swindon Borough Council "Scores on the Doors" scheme. We are very proud of our 5 stars and work hard to maintain the rigorous standards of hygiene and record keeping required to achieve and keep the award. We think it's important that all of our bar and kitchen staff hold Food Hygiene Certificates and receive regular training. A FULL LIST of the latest rating for all the food premises in the Swindon comes from the Council's web site, and there a is also NATIONAL WEBSITE listing premises in all the participating authorities in the UK.

On our summer visit to Spain we started a BLOG which many of you followed whilst we were on our travels. We're using it to get our occasional mailings and other news out to the wider world. If you read it and would like to join our mailing list click here.
