Basic Fundraising
- What should you do before you can
fundraise?
- identifying need,
- planning
- identifying fundraising costs
- involving volunteers
- fundraising and the law,
- this will be followed by practical
sessions on different fundraising techniques.
- By the end of the day you should
- understand the importance of planning
- be able to use that knowledge to develop
a fundraising strategy
- produce concise and clear applications
- know where to look for both help and
money
- take away some good fundraising ideas.
Corporate
Giving
- By the end of the day you should be able
to

understand
the expectations of corporate givers
·
know
about the types of support available
·
be
able to research and identify potential corporate supporters,
·
know
how to maintain good corporate donor relations,
·
use
that knowledge to develop a fundraising strategy,
·
produce
concise and clear requests.
Funding a
Project
- You will learn the process of developing a
project including
·
the
planning process
·
setting
goals
·
budgeting
·
setting
up processes for management and financial controls
·
monitoring
and evaluation, record keeping and reporting
·
preparing
work plans.
·
identifying
where to get money & help and ideas for partnership and networking
·
putting
together an application.
Applying to
Charitable Trusts
- Participants will
·
increase
their understanding of the way trusts work
·
learn
how to match a project to trust
·
what
preparation is needed before writing an application.
· There will be practical sessions in
how to write an application to a trust and how to build on and maintain support
received.
Fundraising and the Law
- Learn about the implications of parts 2
and 3 of the 1992/3 Charities Act for fundraisers including professional
fundraisers and commercial participators and what agreements are needed.
- The day will also cover the laws governing
·
charitable
appeals,
·
public
collections
·
raffles
·
the
roles and responsibilities of managing volunteer fundraisers
·
avoiding
the pitfalls when producing fundraising material.
