Social
Enterprise
- A feasibility study and
site development plan for a bunkhouses development for Bettws Boys and
Girls Club near Bridgend.
- A number of feasibility
studies for the Coalfields Regeneration Trust Social Enterprise Scheme –
an off-road motorcycling centre, a business plan for a race equality
council, a business plan for a translation service among others.
- Martin Price Associates
designed Social Enterprise Awareness Workshops for the Welsh Development
Agency’s general business advisers and WDA staff. These were
delivered in English and Welsh throughout Wales in 2005 and
2006.
- Feasibility studies for
two social firms in the Vale of Glamorgan for the Innovate Trust.
- A feasibility study for an indoor skateboard park in Llanelli for the Foothold
Group.
- Work
with Communities on Community Enterprise schemes in Ystalyfera, Wrexham,
Conwy and Dinas Powys.
Organisational
reviews of Third Sector organisations
- Advising
Cardiff and Vale Coalition of Disabled People on their legal structure,
creating a charitable subsidiary to work with the existing company limited
by guarantee.
- Advising
Cardiff YMCA Housing Association on Strategic Planning and organisational
issues
Research
and Evaluation
- Big
Lottery Fund Research – Exit Strategies – factors for success. An extensive project involving a sample
of over 200 Community Fund grantholders in Wales,
Northern
Ireland,
East of England, North East England and England-wide. The research was conducted by face-to-face
interviews, telephone interviews, focus groups and desk research. Conclusions were based on both
quantitative and qualitative analysis.
The report has been published by the Community Fund; a summary
document and the full report is available from the Big
Lottery Fund website.

An evaluation of LAG2 – Llanelli, Amman Gwendraeth - a
programme of community development-related capacity building activities in
Carmarthenshire. The programme was
delivered by a partnership consisting of Foothold Community Specialists, Amman
Valley Enterprises and Menter Cwm Gwendraeth.

The evaluation of the Partnership Initiatives Budget
Grant Scheme for the Legal Services commission and the Big Lottery Fund
Arts
- Feasibility
study for Valley and Vale Community Arts, Bridgend, looking at the
prospects for conversion of a redundant Victorian school building in
Ogmore Vale into an arts centre
- A
Business Plan for a proposed new Living Museum
for Cardiff for Cardiff City Council, in conjunction with Chadwick Jones
Associates.
- Producing a Business Plan
for Theatr Mwldan in Cardigan for the development of the Theatre (a second
auditorium and Gallery) and the conversion of farm outbuildings into a
multi-media Centre This £6.9
million project is one of the largest schemes approved under European
Objective One with matched funding from the Arts Council of Wales, the
Welsh Development Agency and Ceredigion County Council.
- Researching
the arts market in Barry and advising Barry Town Council on more effective
use of Barry Memorial Hall, which has two auditoria, the larger of which
has a capacity of 1300, and a purpose-built gallery.
- Producing
a Business Plan for Oriel Davies, the Arts Council of Wales supported
venue for the visual arts in Newtown.
Training
·
Martin Price Associates developed and delivered a series of Social Enterprise
Awareness Workshops for all the Welsh Development Agency’s General Business
Advisers throughout Wales. 280 advisers
trained.
- Fundraising
Training for a large number of organisations including ContinYou, Duke of
Edinburgh’s Award Scheme, Wales Centre for Health, Wrexham County Council,
Conwy County Boroough Council and CyMAL, the Assembly department for
Museums and Libraries in Wales.
