The Harbury Folk Club Choir is proud to announce a second Christmas Concert.  It will take place in All Saints' Church, Harbury on Saturday 5th December 2009 at 7:30pm.

Tickets will be on sale in early November. Prices will be £7 for adults and £5 for children (16 and under) and concessions (students, unwaged and over 60s).  Profits will go to Harbury Church and the Leamington Christian Mission.

We will again record the concert and produce a CD of the evening.

The CD of our first Christmas Concert

History of the Choir

The Harbury Folk Club Choir began when the Folk Club was invited to participate in the Harbury Church Christmas Eve Carol Service back in 1987. A small group of people took up the challenge and sang two Christmas songs - in folk style - that year. It has happened every year since. Over the years, individuals have come and gone, dropped out and returned, but the tradition has continued. In 2004, the choir decided to put together a concert of some of the songs that had been sung over the years, and we asked a friend to record it for us, enabling us to produce a CD the following year. That concert, and the subsequent CD sales have enabled us to donate nearly £1000 to be shared between the Church and the Leamington Christian Mission.

Copies of the first CD are still available at £5.
If you would like to buy a copy, please send an email using the information link on the home page.

A Choir for All Seasons

More recently some of the choir members expressed interest in learning some non-Christmas songs, and so the idea of a 'Choir for all seasons' was born. Over the last couple of years we have learned a handful of non-Christmas material to sing for the most tenuous reason!
