May Day 2001

This year, our dancing at dawn at Chesterton Windmill was slightly constrained by the fencing around the broken mill.  However, we had a contingency plan..... (photos courtesy of Bob Hodgkiss).

You can just see the incomplete Chesterton Windmill looming in the dark while the musicians play beside Rosemary's model.  The sails on the little mill turned so fast that it was advisable to keep well clear.

On the other hand, the Windmill dance was a full-sized version.  Here you see Celia and Peter discussing how well it is going.

Yann and Valerie, visiting from Samois-sur-Seine, look cold and somewhat bemused by these strange happenings.  Who can blame them?

"Just my luck to have parents who Morris dance on a cold hilltop while all my chums are still in their warm beds".
