Hangover Tour, January 1st 2000, Harbury

On a beautiful sunny day, right at the start of the new millennium, we were out on our traditional Hangover Tour around the pubs of Harbury.  The natives were friendly, in good humour and gave generously to our charity collection.

As usual, we started our tour at The Crown Inn just after noon.  We emerged from the pub into the sunshine to do our first dance, as soon as the church bells had stopped ringing.  The old lady whose back you can see is actually Pete dressed in his miller's smock.  The others appear to be just milling around but are actually dancing. The sun is still shining and we're dancing at the Old New Inn.  Chris (far left) can be seen dancing Vandals of Hammerwich for the very first time and appears to be studying Celia's feet very carefully.  It's actually a right foot start, Chris. Click to reveal a larger picture

In fact, wings have been the fashion accessory during this festive season and we may well adopt them as part of the kit, if only to help some dancers get off the ground!
Here you see a group of Hereburgh musicians (including the Miller and his melodeon and, just out of sight, Janny and her impressive new concertina) gathered around the attractive skips in the car park of The Shakespeare Inn. Click to reveal a larger picture

All in all, it was a delightful and memorable start to the year 2000.

Meanwhile in Hawaii, Lynne was resorting to other methods to help her caper a little higher.  The Christmas weather appears to be terrible. Click to reveal a larger picture
