The quiet,
fashionable town of Aldeburgh is the perfect place for everybody— families,
couples, friends. Aldeburgh is a relaxing place to be, with a calm and
gentle lifestyle. This sma ll
friendly town in Suffolk is a great centre for you to enjoy your holiday.
It has plenty of
amenities with shops in the High Street, a small cinema, excellent bookshop,
art galleries. There is a good range of places to eat—good restaurants,
pubs and take-away restaurants too, including the very famous Fish & Chip
shop (see below).
Aldeburgh is
surrounded by gently undulating countryside, great for walking. Walk along
the beach, by the river, across the fields to enjoy the wildlife and enjoy
the space and peacefulness.
Aldeburgh is a
very peaceful and unspoilt town!
There is a
Tourist Information Centre on the High Street, to keep you up to date with
current places to see.

The Beach |
|
The lovely
stone beach of Aldeburgh is a real treat. It is clean and uncrowded.
I can some
it up in one word for you, refreshing. Aldeburgh is big in terms of
lifeboats. There is a lifeboat centre on the beach, with huge lifeboats
inside –when I first saw them, they were amazingly big. I didn’t realise
lifeboats were so large. |

A fabulous
and
famous landmark, The Moot Hall is near the beach. Make sure you have a
look inside this wonderful
museum.
Next to the
Moot Hall is a small boating lake. Make friends as you sail your small
boat—return to those childhood memories.
You can
enjoy a luxury moment/day by purchasing a small toy boat, these can be
bought at a local shop: the newsagent, co-op etc. |

Aldeburgh is
famous for it’s fish and chips—no? it’s not? Oh well, it should be!. On
the
High Street, there are two fish and chip shops run by the same company.
We highly advise you visit one of them during your stay.
