All chickens sold at our Clapham shop are free-range birds that grow at a slow, natural rate. They are housed in small flocks, with access to open paddocks and pastures, and are raised on a natural cereal-based diet, free of additives. This means:
Compare our suppliers' high standards with those of the intensive chicken rearing industry, where flocks of up to 20,000 birds are packed into a single shed. Antibiotics in food make the birds grow at a rapid and unnatural rate. Near permanent lighting encourages overeating and results in a 2-3kg bird in just 38 days. No wonder people from all over south London flock to Moen's in search of a high quality alternative.
