FARM
This is a working Dairy Farm with about 200 Friesian Holsteins and 100 Dairy youngstock. The cows produce 2 million litres of milk a year mainly from fresh grass in the summer and conserved maize and grass (silage) in winter. The cows are milked twice a day at 2.00 a.m. and 2.00 p.m.
If you wish to see the cows being milked (between 3-4p.m.) or wish to see around any of the rest of the farm please call at the Farmhouse.
We ask you not to let your children play around the Farmyard as it can be dangerous and also that you keep your pets under control and away from any livestock. The lane to the farm is generally very quiet and offers a good dog walk with lots of grassy verges.
There is also a footpath sign-posted immediately on your left as you enter the Farmyard.
Our dog, BETH (black golden retriever cross) wanders freely around the farm and enjoys visitors to the campsite. She is very friendly and will give you her undivided attention if you feed her so we suggest that you don’t. Also please beware of the electric fences, they will not harm you but may frighten children and pets.
