Chrissy is a voluptuous girly bun, very cheeky
indeed! She came to us as a vet referral. Her previous owners
had brought her to the surgery to be put to sleep 'because she had ringworm'
and she was 'infecting the children' and the doctor had advised her to 'get
rid of the rabbit'. The vet was of course reluctant to end the life of
a perfectly treatable bunny so she asked if we would take her on and give
her a chance. We made all the preparations to bring her in and put her
into isolation. Chrissy had some tests done at the vets and we had to
wait three weeks for all the results to come through. We had to give
her medicated baths once a week for three weeks, sterilize everything she
(and therefore we) came into contact with, and don rubber gloves and
disposable aprons when we handled her. She got very grumpy in
isolation and we felt so sorry for her.
Finally Chrissy's test results came back as
negative, turns out she didn't have ringworm at all, she never had done.
We were so upset that she had to be put through all that stress for nothing,
but it had to be done.
When she was introduced to the main body of the
rescue, she took a liking to Frosty and now they get out to play together.
She's living life to the full and one day she'll be able to move in with
Frosty and they can live happily ever after.
