CASE STUDY

McPhillips (Wellington) Ltd

McPhillips moved to Prodigy in 1992 after a long search to find the right applications software to run our business. After the initial period of trials and tribulations with the setup and training on Prodigy, McPhillips have no doubt that the right decision was made. The savings in time, effort and manpower have had a dramatic impact on our understanding of the roll that computer systems now play in our everyday operations.
Why Prodigy? It runs on the SCO Unix Platform and we have found that this to be a very stable platform and seldom have to suffer down time often associated with computer systems. Security is excellent. The Contractors suite of software does exactly what we require and the full integration of these modules into the Prodigy accounting packaging saves McPhillips time and manpower in not having to re-key information. The ease with which data in all ledgers is entered, full and easily used audit trails and the ability to produce management reports via report writers, downloads into excel or other third party software.
Because the owners and many of the Staff have worked with the systems for many years, prior to McPhillips moving to Prodigy, support of the product is not an issue. Regardless of issues reported, thankfully very few, the response is excellent and comes from a very dedicated support team.
McPhillips employs 250 direct employees along with many Sub-Contractors. Typical contracts range from between £200K to £3m. Financial control of these contracts is down to our staff and Prodigy software.
