It seems most likely that if the A461 red route was approved (despite our robust opposition!) then the A491 would be the next logical development since a part of it from Stourbridge ring road to the junction with the A461 would be already operational.
This time we will go from south to North since that is where the route has already been started.
The route starts at Hagley where the A456 meets the A491 and continues on to the island at Pedmore (where ultimately it would link to the A4036 red route) and along the Hagley Road to the Stourbridge Ring Road.
Continuing along the established Red Route through Amblecote and then through Wordsley, past the Hospital, and along Stream Road, Market Street and Moss Grove in Kingswinford and on to Wolverhampton Road in Wall Heath.
The route concludes at the South Staffs county boundary
